What coilovers to go with under $1K

I know there are countless threads about coilovers but I am still not finding the best results. I am looking to buy coilovers for under 1K. I want a comfortable ride, but im willing to sacrifice. I want to go low, and have an aggressive drop but do not know what height is "reasonable" as this is my first time lowering a car. I like the idea of solo werks because they go 3 inches all around but do most people use all that drop? I know ST goes 2.2 is that enough? How much "low" will I actually need? Can anyone give me input on these coilovers; pics, reviews, ratings etc. I will be adding 19x9.5 rims too. The more pictures the better thanks!

PSS10 is the only good track option anyways. Under that you might as well go for SoloWerks. Heard nothing but great things about them...Apparently they ride only slightly firmer than stock and have good adjust-ability. You live in CA so no need to worry about corrosion like I do....$549 shipped.. can't beat it. I just ordered some for my Allroad that arrive today. Went for them because of cost and good reviews from friends

Assuming you have a normal A4 and not an AR, 9.5 inch is a pretty wide wheel for that fender. Stock offset is like ET47 with an 8 inch wheel I believe... not deep at all. If you're trying to ride real low without rubbing I'd get an 8.5 inch wheel

Let me know how you like them on your AR....I am looking for some for my AR as well. Better yet, a review after you install them would be nice:)

If you are looking for the lowest price possible many Audi enthusiasts run Raceland which isn't the best quality coilover but it gets the job done and holds up well. Racelands will cost you between $350 and $500. Bilstein, or the PSS10 that Corbin is talking about, is a good coilover, not only for the track but also for hard banked curvy roads. In my opinion, Bilstein is the best option for someone looking for a cheaper coilovers but not the bottom of the barrel. The PSS10 will lower you about 30-50mm or about 1.1" to 2". This will leave you with a decent amount of space between the top of the tire and the edge of the arch ensuring that you'll never rub or catch your inner wheel well liner. Also you can run 19x9.5" on an A4, i did it everyday on springs and now on bags. I've even met a few kids who run 20x10" on a b7 a4, now they did pull their inner liner but its still possible.

I would say I had an "agressive-ish" drop when I was static on solo werks. Once you go as low as me comfort is out of the window, the ride wasn't the best but it's some that is sacrificed when you go as low or lower than what I had, a. You should be good with the 9.5's depending on the offset.
Here a few pics when I was static, I have 20" on

To bring this thread back on track........OP you absolutely get what you pay for, i would look at H&R Streets which are usually right around $1100, and Vogtlands which are usually right around $750. Personally i think ST's are pos's, mine lasted all of 2000 miles and you couldn't pay me to run cheaper coilovers.

Personally i wouldn't buy coilovers at all, i like the set and forget of a good shock and spring combo like the Bilstein B12 kits, but im to lazy to be pulling off wheels to turn the spring perch to adjust 1/32 of an inch to get the stance right.
Stage 1 more than you RS3

If you go springs I'd agree with o1turbo30v. Look at H&R. I loved my sport springs from them. I just so happen to be selling my springs if you want to go that option hahaha

This is exactly the stance that I want to go with. No wheel gap at all. It looks perfect
