    Magnaflow Muffler?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I was thinking about getting this muffler for my car, but i'm scared it's going to sound too loud or ricery. Anyone have it installed or know if it sounds good? I won't be deleting resonators, I have no DP. Basically the exhaust system will be all stock except for the muffler lol.

I'm not getting the full catback. Just the muffler, do you think it'll still have similar sound

I have sold magnaflow muffler sections to toyota's and honda's. Ricey sound yes. I am not sure what sound might come from an Audi. Could be better.

I have my rear muffler removed and the mid swapped out with a magnaflow. Don't think it sounds ricey at all. Yeah, an aftermarket exhaust on a car from Japan is going to sound like a modified Japanese car.

I have no idea. Magnaflow is a sponsor on here and chimed in when I first posted about my install.

    @magnaflow Any input on this?

i have had a full magnaflow system on my b6 and a custom built setup on my b7 neither were ricey! i plan on doing another custom one on me b8 here in the next few weeks and will again be going with magnaflow mufflers because they have yet to let me down. You will get a similar tone as the video above but it will probably be a bit quieter if i had to say due to the fact i'm guessing that you will only be replacing your rear muffler and leaving everything else stock

One more question, will that muffler fit with the tips? Or is it too long? I don't want it to stick out too much. Want it to have similar fitment to the stock tips

Looking forward to the video, and just by looking at it I don't think it'll stick out that much but the shop that's doing the work can easily make an adjustment to the exhaust pipe that will mount up to the other side of that to muffler in order to fit the desired length you want the tips to stick out

Any idea which Magnaflow model system fits the allroad? The Magnaflow website doesn't list the allroad (as many sites don't). Thinking of switching from the Awe system I have now...

Sound of the exhaust (ricey vs. not ricey) has more to do with the engine design than exhaust brand. A Subaru boxer engine is going to sound different than a Honda or a VW.

The 2.0 in the A4 is a small bore long stroke motor. The Civic/Prelude/Acura crowd are square or over square motors with larger bore, short stroke. That and turbo breaks up the sound pulses as it moves through the compressor.

No, 2.0T is a long stroke motor and turbo. Ricey is often with an oversquare motor.

Sorry we're late to the party. Your setup would sound somewhat similar to that, but a little deeper tone, and quieter since you will be retaining the stock resonator. It wont be ricey at all! Replacing the stock mufflers with ours is actually a great budget setup that tons of people use across all car models.

The tips on that muffler are 7"- too long if you are planning to keep the muffler in the stock location. We would recommend getting one of our universal mufflers without tips, then having the shop attach your stock tips to it. The other option would be getting some our shorter replacement tips to use.

Our system for the 2013-16 allroad is #15369. If we remember correctly, users Dropshadow, J_Sims, and Jsivadas all run this system.

Your warranty wont be voided! Magnusen Moss act states the dealer cannot deny your warranty unless they can specifically prove the replacement/aftermarket parts were directly responsible for failure.

I already have the front resonator removed (via replacement downpipe). is that going to make this cat-back system unbearably loud?

    Thanks!

My main reason for exploring this is to try to reduce the overall noise of the exhaust. Currently I have a full exhaust with AWE DP/exhaust and Eurocode HFC that can be pretty noisy. Wondering if the magnaflow would help.

Our exhausts tends to be more conservative than other aftermarket brands. It should be quieter than your current catback section, but if you really want to bring the volume down, some pre-catback changes may be necessary.

Great! Let us know how you like it once it's installed!
I didn't know that. When I spoke to the dealership they told me any aftermarket exhaust system would void the warranty. Hmm may have to look into that.

The muffler arrived just a few days ago waiting for my buddy to weld it on. It looks like it'll fit better than I anticipated and oh la la it looks sweeeet
