Mirror link/Miracast?

I just came across these after reading through the cars-equipment steering wheel thread. There's no compatibility info on them. Anyone have any experience with these, or anything similar?

I had a cheap ebay mirror link box hooked up to my xcarlink setup, but the ebay box eventually died. The unit in that link you posted looks like the setup someone was selling in a thread here direct from china but i'm not 100% sure, and it looks like they added on a mirrorcast streaming receiver too it.

Sorry guys missed this thread and have been busy putting my Classic Mini Cooper together :) . I have bought 2 mirror devices to go with my XCL set up, the first one was from China, i bought this as it was cheap and wanted to test it before sinking money into a fairly descent one, it worked ok but the video quality was shit. The second mirror box was from a german supplier and has been perfect ever since i installed it, i use an iPhone 5s and as the IOS program gets updated frequently and stops connecting, the german supplier would send on request an up date file that can be uploaded via a usb socket on the mirror device and has worked perfectly. i stream Spotify, Redbull TV, Waze and many other apps through it.

Not the same supplier but the same device

I installed it so it was inside the glove box for easy access.

So you need the xcarlink in addition? I haven't read anything about XCL yet. I'll have to do that.

Ok you can pay more then for the same Kit, apparently there were some issues with customers that had Manual Transmission on the reverse Camera installs. If you read the thread though there is a Direct Contact who even helped with installs.

How does this affect the normal MMI behavior? Do you still retain all OEM functionality/menus/etc? Is there a "switch" between phone mirroring and normal MMI operation?

Haven't found any good information on using this, just a bunch of demos on the phone mirroring portion. But how does this integrate with the car? What loads when you turn the car on?

You hold mode down turn to XCL, you must have something like XCL for it to work and feed into the aux to get sound, if i am just listening to music i connect to mirracast via Wifi, press media button and you get your tunes, if you want video then you need to press mode to get the screen to switch. Maybe i can do a vid later and show you.

Got it, so it's something you have to toggle manually (if i reverse, i would need to toggle this off for the reverse camera to be displayed).

What manufactures did you work with? Funny thing is I did a search for Mirabox and i can find a ton of sites selling these, but no clear manufacture website. Just wondering if there's a manufacture to turn to for support.

XCL is the only one i have used, i wanted to try there mirror device, you can add Mirroring, reverse camera, EVS, my recommendation is to get an auto electric to install it all.
This is what you need to interface all the stuff, look on the right side of the page and choose what you want to add.
