well i fixed the p0011 code was a bad oil filter, been a few days since everything was put back together. this morning as i put my turn signal to pass someone to get into the right lane to pull into work the oil pressure light came on. i threw it into neutral and shut it off right away and pulled into work. saw the oil was low so i added oil, i been checking every now and then the oil level seems find. now i dont know if i could be because of the tiny oil leak i have for the past few days or if its cause the pick up to please help i dont have the money to send it to some one and i still owe money on the car. engine is a 2.0t

If I understand you right, you had an oil light, it was low on oil, you added oil and now you don't have a light. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I'm not sure what the question is. The first reply to your p0011 post said he solved his the same way. Don't you just have to wait and see if you're consuming oil?

I believe he had the red low oil pressure light come on and coasted to a stop. Found his oil level to be low so he added some oil and then the light hasn't come back on since. Not sure how low the oil was (visible on the dipstick or not?).

You need to have your oil pressure tested. If you have low pressure and continue to run on it, could ruin your entire engine. I just recently had the same problem and am converting to the 1.8t pump. Our oil pumps are known to fail.

    Get a pressure check.

I had that light. Mine was due to condensation that froze the top layer of the oil.
I had the shop drop the oil pan, they replaced the pickup tube with the revised part.

Oil pressure and oil level are two different alerts on our cars. Hope he has distinguished the two.

Yea this is not the bullet proof Audi motors I drove for years. Cam follower, oil pump, now they put this flimsy rear main seal on the B8's that's becoming an epidemic.

yes its becoming a problem , in the industry I work it is called " value engineering" ie: how do we get away with making it cheaper.

I'm not surprised. That V6 was rock solid. I had 222,000 on my last one, never even had the valve covers off. The modern Audi V6's all have to come out at 100,000 + miles to do the timing chains. I don't know that my next car will be an Audi.

Did you have an oil level warning that you ignored before finally getting an oil pressure warning? If the oil pressure light came on suddenly that would cause me to be pretty concerned. If it was low and you never got a minimum oil level warning maybe you need to replace that sensor.

Which engine? My understanding was that there were two different V6 engines available.

Me? I was talking about the 3.2. They have 4 timing chains on the back, and now that they're all getting over 100,000 miles on them a lot of them need attention. And you can't get to them all unless you pull the motor. The 3.0 still had a timing belt if that's what you're thinking?

It's snowing here in Hopkins right now. In Eagan too?

okay guys so 2 weeks ago i posted this post, i let the car sit a full day check the oil before i left work surprisingly was perfect till last night the light back on i stopped check the oil level was low as shit added oil drove home, the light was off then left the house the light came back on so something is telling me its the pick up tube, but been reading in the hanes book i have that it could also be a oil filter that is dirty as shit. so i will be draining my oil tomorrow replacing the filter agian, and pulling the oil sensor to take a peek inside to see if i can see the pick up tube as well. checked the oil this morning it was way passed the max, yes i know what can happen... my other car was abused for a little because took it to a shop to change the oil since i didn't have time to change it and turns out the asshole put 7.5 quarts of oil instead of 6 quarts of oil so now i have a 85 Porsche 944 burning oil like crazy if i really wanna drive fast.
