    Fog Light Upgrade B8 A4

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    I ordered

    Mini H1 Projectors - Mini H1 Projectors
    DDM HID Kit - 55W H1 4500k
    Error Eliminators

My idea was to put a projector and H1 55Watt bulb but I realized I need to cut the Fog light housing. So i ordered a spare on Ebay, once it arrives I'll cut that out.

For now I used an old H11 DDM 35Watt HID Kit and just put it inside, on the other side it is a HOEN XENON Match 100Watt Bulb. I dont understand how there is a nice cut off.

    Interesting setup!

I'm considering led housings for this purpose: morimoto xb led (angled) would fit there.

A 55W HID will likely melt your fog housing. I really wanted a 55W 3000k fog set up but I've read how 55W HID has melted quite a few housings and went with 35W

Possibly but I won't be running the fog lights all the time.

Good thing you ordered spares; if something does happen, then you'll know. I say you still go ahead with the retrofit :)

I think the B5.5 passat foglights are projector, I wonder if anyone has tried to use the internals to upgrade the B8 housings.

Driver side = 100Watt H11 Hoen Xenon Match
    Passenger Side = 35W HID 4700k

HUGE Difference but I want to install the projector to have the light spread higher up.

It is COMPLETE. Worth every penny and all the time and effort.

I'll make a write up if needed but it's pretty self explanatory

I can't wait for tonight to take it out of the city. When I unlock the car and only the fog lights come on... it's something. I removed the cut off but it doesn't bother anyone as the car nose points down.

I did the DDM 35W HID ultra 3000k for my fogs and they're bright as hell...kinda scatter though because the fog lens is not a projector

Why'd you remove the cut off? Isn't that one of the advantages of having a projector as it's a nice, cutoff point?

Lol, yup. That's the entire point. You want to project light further down the road with an even/flat beam pattern. He's lighting up second story bedroom windows, lol.

Yea, I'm good with my $40 bulbs. I'll be selling my old ones for $15 shipped. Great color just not enough light output for my liking.

The reason i removed the cut off was because i didn't want to have two cut offs. The projectors are also much brighter than my headlights (also bluer) so this way it's diffused.
I drove behind a few friends and they all told me its bright but it doesn't bug them as it's pointing down. So I'll keep it as is :)
