Hey all,
Got a couple of questions for you lot.
I put my B7 S4 onto a DynaPack dyno (hyb dyno) today to test out the dyno software and need a few pointers from anyone who might know.
Firstly, what is the diff ratios for the front/center/rear (ie final drive)? It is the tiptronic gearbox. The center is pretty obvious, as I have the 2005.5, it is the 50:50 split, but unsure of the others.
Second, how the heck do you stop kickdown? I set the system for 4th gear pull, at 2500rpm and used a 6k limit. The car kept pushing gears down to 2nd which I kept pushing back up as quickly as I can but as you can tell, the power graph doesn't like that.
Third, while I did manage to get a quick run (was last thing at work), the limit of 6k ment I only got circa 322hp. The torque graph showed a very liner and flat torque curve. Do these gearboxes normally have such a torque limit on them? Has anyone had any success in accessing the gearbox ecu?
Lastly, the main ecu - is it encrypted, or will it be mappable with ECM?
Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of experience with relatively modern OEM ecu systems (we map and run our own custom systems predominantly for TVR/Landrovers, etc). Also, we just got the software updated to the lastest version on our Dynapack and is very different to the version we have been using for a while.
Thanks guys, and sorry I dont have any images of the graphs as its on the dyno PC, and not going to bother getting them as they are pretty useless. :)
