Q5, bent BOTH rear rims while towing

So, I just dropped my Q5 off to get the tires balanced as I had a weird vibration at highway speeds (78-85 or so). They informed me that both of my rear rims are bent. So, i took it to the dealer and let them have a look to confirm. I do need to replace both rear rims.

I'm confused as to what could have happened. I towed a 4x8 uhaul trailer that was almost empty and way under the total and tongue weights, and don't remember any particularly big impacts. But I guess that's that, no sense in wondering.

Has anybody else had problems with the 19" Prestige package rims?

Also, if anybody knows of a place I can find a pair, that'd be very helpful, as the dealer wants nearly $600 a piece.

for the price of two new ones from the dealer you could purchase a 20" set in the classifieds.

    Right?

I like my 19s though. Better ride for up here in MT and the shitty roads in LA. The dealer wanted ~1200 for two rims. There's spotless take-offs from dealers on eBay for 1000 a SET.

I found a company on eBay that has a 30 day no questions asked return policy and sells cosmetic fix-up wheels that are OEM. I grabbed two from them and worst case scenario, I'll just put the two originals on one side and the refurb ones on the other to hide any color disparity.

Also, I could really give a shit about the Q5 looks. Fiancee already hit a pole with the door and curbed the life out of another rim. This thing is the dog hauling, family road trip, fiancee's daily battle-axe.

next time check your psi when towing. you may need to adjust accordingly for the weight.
