    ? For those running 3mm & 5mm spacers...do u need longer bolts?

Quick question fellas...a buddy of mine claims you don't need longer wheel bolts when it's a 3mm or 5mm spacer. Anything longer, you will. Thoughts/Comments?

You should have 6.5-8 engaging turns when tightening your bolts. Stock, I had 7 turns. When I put my 3mm spacers on, I was getting 4 turns. So, I would say yes, but YMMV. Check to see if your bolts turn enough times with a spacer on. If not, get new bolts.

I've been able to use stock bolts with 3mm, but never 5mm. A nice set (20) of zinc plated bolts only runs about $70. Not worth taking chances, and if you're doing say a 5mm rear, I'd want new front bolts too so they match. OEM is 14x1.5x27 so for 3mm, 14x1.5x30 and 14x1.5x32 for 5mm.

For maximum strength you should have the same penetration as the diameter of the bolt, which is 1/2" or 12mm in real money.

And yes, I did just say "penetration" for the girls giggling on the back row.

If your length matches your girth then the above is not relevant.
