    brake warning symbol.

    hi friends. i had the brake warning symbol come up on the dash, and the handbrake warning light flahing, it turned out that the brake booster motor had failed, changed the motor. but still got the symbol up on the dash, just had my mate come round with his vcd reader to see if it can be rest. but the symbol is still on the dash. but the only fault code is driver side abs wheel sensor. but this problem was on the car when i brought it. has anyone got any ideas please. any help would be greatlly appricated.

    Could simply mean that your pads are low and have triggered the indicator. Could be for either the front or the rear. I'd check your pad thickness for sure.

    hi friends thank you for your replythe pads are new. and the fluid level is ok. this fault has only just started when the brake assit motor failed.

    Even if the fluid level looks fine, try adding a little. Also, don't you get the light anyway with a bad ABS sensor?

    hi mate. i belive its to do with the brake booster motor. which is only found on autos. going to try something tomorow to see if i can fix this issue.

    Is the brake fluid level sensor plugged in?

    hi mate. it sure is, this fault has only arisen since the brake boost assit motor failed. ive fitted a replacement, the motor runs but dont think its making any vacum. its seams a comon problem on auto b6 a4s, i think the vanes have seized in the replacement one, and is not putting any vacum into the system. and the presure sensor cannot sense the presure so is keeping the waring light on, so iam going to dismantle my old one and give it a light refurb and try that.

    found the symptom of the problem. turned out the abs pump has failed. a new one is on its way, so hopefully will sort the problem out. thank you all for your help. much appricated.
