    2010 A4 B8 2.0T injector failure

I recently bought a 2010 A4 with the 2.0T. Started running funny the other day, so i took it to my local mechanic and he diagnosed it as a fuel injector failure on cylinder 3. He also told me that there is a special tool to remove or install the new injector and that the dealerships would be the only place i can get this tool or service done. Is this true and if so does anyone know what this tool is?

    Thanks

Are you sure it's the injector?

Seems like cylinder 3 has all sorts of crap happen.

I just did all 4 injectors. I didn't need any fancy tool. 3 of the 4 came out in the manifold when I pulled it off and a little prying on the metal injector housing freed it out of the block and the other 3 you could just wiggle and pull out of the manifold with your hand. It is just an oiled small gasket holding them in. When I went to install the new injectors I used a 19mm or so deep socket and a rubber mallet and again CAREFULLY tapped it in using the metal outside of the injector housing. Seated fine.

My cyl 3 saga happened as follows, compression check, new injectors, carbon clean, plugs, coil packs, cyl 3 still misfiring, now the front end comes off to gain access to the timing chain guards, to remove cams and replace all valve springs and lifters and with only 78,000 miles, thanks audi!, good luck to you sir.
