Custom service interval?

Hey guys, just did a oil change over the weekend and was curious if i could set a custom service interval that's lower than the ridiculous 10,000 miles. I used my rosstech cable to perform an SRI, but would really love to set the value to lets say 5,000 miles. I went to 17- instrumentation -> adaptation-> Max service interval, but I don't see how i can use something besides the predefined values. I was just curious if it could be done is all.

I think you can do it by manually entering the settings assuming the vehicle is on variable servicing? http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/vw_sri.html

One year my wife's car (also VAG) said it needed servicing after only 1000 miles instead of 10,000 because the garage had incorrectly set the service interval.
