Touareg coil adapters with 2.0T coils?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Will these adapters work with the 2.0t coils? I know there are a few billet aluminum options but they are atleast 80$ for a set. These are around 5$ each.

I bought a set for my AEB VC but haven't installed them due to the wrong coil packs. The price is cheap but the plastic is kinda thin that could break over the time due to the heat. Plus, there will be like some area around the edge that will not be covered completely.

I didn't say I was going to lol.

My sedan is an 01 and I run red top coils. I just put the rubbers from the stock coils on the red tops and they hold down fine.

My avant has square style coils like yours, so hold downs would be necessary. When and if I ever swap it to red top coils I will be sure to let everyone know how I made some hold downs. But other people have done it already. I would probably use steel and then use gun bluing on the steel so it doesn't rust.

How much money do you think it would cost to buy old those? And how much time? But if you could make something like that cheap we would love to buy.

How much is a strip of aluminum? A few bucks? All one would have to do is make up a jig and they could turn out a hundred of them rather quick.

    it is that easy.
It just looks like...well...a couple dollars worth of aluminum bent around your coil packs.

most people who are swapping over coils have sunk alot of money into their cars (myself included) so the $80 really isnt much in the grand scheme of things.
I like my IE adapters...could i have gone with something cheaper...yea..but i chose not to.

You are over thinking it. Either buy the vw adapters or get some aluminum and bend it up yourself lol

Well these are only 22$ a set so saving 10$ and making my own isn't that appealing.

I'm not broke and I could make them but for 22$ I can have "OEM" adapters so why not.

The OP was referring to coil adapters used on the Touareg not coil hold pack hold downs?

What's even the point of hold downs? My coils fit so snug in the touareg adapters that the motor lifts when I pull one out. The only thing I can think of that would dislodge it is a spark plug blowing out, and if that happens you got more important problems to deal with.

That's why they are cheap, they aren't for the 2.0 coils. They have always been that price.
