We headed to Sacramento Raceway this past Saturday to do some more testing/validation on our 3.0 TFSI Performance Software, and I decided to bring my car along for the trip. I haven't driven at a drag strip in ~10 years, so I was itching to give it another go. We threw some 104 in the tank, and I joined Nate's S4 in the staging lanes.
Unfortunately the track was packed, so I only managed to make three passes in~4 hours. My first run (no launch) was my best of the day at 13.130 @ 104.44 with a mediocre 1.909 second 60-foot time. I bogged the launch on my second two passes, resulting in 2.2-2.3 second 60-foot times. I don't have video of my runs, since our GoPros were pointed forward in Nate's B8 Audi S4 - which is well into the 11s. Looking forward to heading back out there and working on my launches while we work to finalize this tune!
Background: I've had my A4 since it was brand new, and installed an S3 K04 on it at ~3,000 miles, back before there were many tuning options for it. It's got ~116,000 miles on it right now. When we set out to do MED9 tuning a few years ago for our RS500 Audi TT RS Turbo Kit, our calibrator also went over my B7's ECU, and the tune has been a work in progress since.
We plan on offering our K04 Performance Software to the general public in the coming months. In the meantime, if you're local, feel free to send me a PM for more info on becoming an early adopter.
