Flaky how? If it cuts out and you have an iOS device, try turning off the car BT.

Sometimes it will connect and sometimes it won't when I start the car. I have to unplug the tune2air and it will work. I'd much rather have this OEM version which I'm sure it works better.

Been using Tune 2 Air for over 2 years now, NEVER had a problem. My Tune 2 Air is the iPod connection one too. Flawless with full album folder display.

By turning of the car BT will you still be able to answer incoming calls? I too am having issues of cutting out and failure to connect to tune2air on startup with iOS.
