Curious if anyone has experienced this?

The other day I was just cruising around and realized that the rear view mirror was out of place so I adjusted it and wasn't forceful at all but the damn thing fell off and took a chunk of glass with it!!! of course I was dumb enough to grab it and cut my finger. This seemed very strange to me and have never heard of this happening. Has anyone else seen this happen?

Something somewhat similar happened to me. When I first got my S4 it had a bad rearview mirror in it. I purchased a used one in good condition and started taking off the old one. Well, at the time I didnt know you could just turn the mirror and base and it would swivel off. I tried pulling it off the base and it came off. Then realized wires were running through it and that wasnt going to work so I pushed it back onto the base. CRACK!!! a 4 inch crack around the base happened. Over a couple of weeks it grew about a 18 inches!!!

I had the whole button come unglued from the windshield, tried to get a wondshield glass guy to glue it back on but it fell off a few hours later. I had a ppg glass but I have to get another windshield to get my mirror back
