Oh I didn't realize that that wasn't an obvious answer. Sorry for that.

You need an additional cable and software unless the maestro stuff has boot mode functionality.

You'll have to gain access to and open up the ecu, remove it from the case, plug it back into the car. Disconnect the negative cable, turn the key on.

By now you should have your computer and software and what not connected to the car and ready to go. Make a probe of some sort so that you can ground pin 24 on the eeprom. Ground the pin, connect the negative cable, count to 5, remove the ground.

Go back to the computer, click write and select the file for your ecu. HOPEFULLY it writes. If not you'll have to start over from disconnecting the battery cable.

    I hope this helps.

Find one of the MPPS v13 auctions that is close and cheap and comes with software. Theyre pretty much all the same. Same with the galetto ones.

One should never be flashing an ECU without a backup or means of recovery.

But the mentioned software will work just fine in bootmode. Use a 10K resistor to boot it in case you slip.. You don't want to physically fry the ecu. No recovering from that.

Are you using a 10k for grounding boot pin?

    Yep. Just incase you slip.
You dont want a direct short to ground on one of the pins next to it.

That's not a bad idea. I usually use the pad away from the eeprom depending on the ecu.

so once i reflash the stock firmware i will be able to flash the correct tune into my ecu? do the cables come with the correct firmware or do i have to source it elsewhere?

or do i still have to send it to euradyne?

and i agree i should of been more diligent in the process of flashing and double checked before i hit okay on the computer.

What's done is done, now to fix it.

Unfortunately the cables wont come with anything but the software necessary to operate them.

Is the correct file for your ecu from eurodyne a .BIN file or is it some other proprietary file type?

If its a .BIN you can directly flash with the mpps or galetto. If its something else, you will need to flash with a stock .BIN, make sure the car starts, then flash with the maestro software.

The 2002 A4 1.8t should be an 518 F ending part number on the ecu case sticker, the 2003-2005 should be 518 AK. Which one is yours?

I can help with the stock bin for either one if you need, did the maestro software not prompt you to save a factory image of the ecu?
