    *2000 Audi S6 4.2 V8 Quattro

    Greetings from Norway! :)
I guess most of you C5 guyes dont know me, but well.. long story short i had two A4 B5's (link in the signature)
Sold them, bought a 2012 Volvo, hated it. So now im here with new to me S6 C5 :)

I have always liked the C5 chassis, and with the S6 4,2L V8 i just fell in love, its something completely different 1.6L V70 to say the least.
The car has 196,000 kilometers on it, and its characterized by very good maintenance through time, one sees that these cars tend to be reserved for enthusiasts.
The car is well equipped with full electric Recaro partial leather / alcantara in silver, alcantara roof, cruise control, xenon, solar panel sunroof, Navi plus with Bose stereo, original phone, sun shades in the rear and side windows, tinted windows,
electric windows and mirrors, paddle (thumb) shift on the steering wheel, and certainly things I forgot to mention. Beyond this, the car has received a "Facelift" with optics of an RS6, front bumper, rear bumper, side skirts, full RS6 exhaust, new build / reconditioned gearbox.

Incredibly fun car, even despite the heavy weight (1900kg) Feels like a small tank, is steady planted on the road, nice coupe with no noise that rattles or squeaks, good quality all over i feel like.
But i just have to mention the sound ... When cruising in drive its silent, until you throw the shifter into manual mode, downshift and provide power ... EARGASM!
Along with the Recaro interior there is nothing in the way of a proper roadtrip!

So far my experience with the car is that it's incredibly fun!
Otherwise, I have the some future plans, RS6 emblems is going to be stripped away as soon as I get the S6 badges in the mail, otherwise i will install some led bulbs in the fog light and interior.
The Bose stereo is going out, it works just fine but in my ears nothings beats some propper Focal speakers! :) Going to pair them up with a Parrot Smart headunit, a decent amp and probably mby some 12inch subwoofer.

The DVD playback unit in the rear i am going to remove, I dont like the look of the unit .. nor have I any kids or similar that will get pleasure from it.

Some more pictures, going to take better ones when i got time and the light conditions are better.

The summer wheels is OEM 19" RS6 1

    Thanks! :)
Agreed, i hate "emblem tuning" so the badging is one of the first things i am going to replace with the correct S6 badging, allready ordered new ones.

    Thanks :)
Anyone that sits on some info regarding using a C6 steering wheel in a C5?
I know its been done multiple times... would be nice to get the paddleshift instead of thumbshift and then use the media buttons once i install the parrot smart unit.
All info i have found has been outdated without pictures etc =/

Looking good, I like the blue and cream color combination.

Fake/incorrect badges always makes me laugh. Anyone that doesn't know anything about cars won't know what it means, anyone that does knows that they're fake. Like my idiot neighbor who put SRT8 badges on his Chrysler 300. In the wrong place. And they're not even straight.

I am probably just going to get a redone steeringwheel with thumb shift as i would need new airbag aswell with the S4.

    Did some work today.
The plate lights where dead, and by law i need them to work in Norway, and i was going to remove the inner plastic of the trunk anyways when i shortly should get my glass plug in the mail.

After some searching i found the connector causing the trouble.

Used some electronic cleaning fluid and scratched the pins clean again.

Working beautifully :) So next step will be to install some led bubds here.

Also i will recive my new head unit tommorow, atleast that is what the tracking info says, so then i am going to play around to fit the Asteroid smart.

    Hello again!

Been super slow with updating this thread, but here it goes :)
Been doing some work basically all over the car.

First all it was time do upgrade the car stereo, so the stock unit and bose speakers in the front had to go.
Got hold of a cheap decent 2 hand amp, and it included a i guess okey subwoofer aswell.

Started with hooking up the parrot unit.

Pulled all the usb cables etc out and into the glove box

After some cutting (got the wrong frame) and fiddling i got the unit in place

I just love this unit, being i had previously been using the parrot classic in my B5.
It has everything i need, internet radio, gps, navigation, rear view camera input, video input and easy to use android system.

By this time we got even more snow..

Next up was installing the amp and subwoofer.
I wanted a clean hidden install so went to work.
    Started by stripping the trunk

More stripping to pull the cables

sound dampened the boot with 3x layers of material, the black stuff with aluminium topping.
aswell as a layer of dampening cloth. Then cut out a top plate of wood that i wedged into the foam stuff after cutting some room for the plate.

The front doors got upgraded with some Focal 6,5" speakers being powered by the amp aswell.
the rear doors im just going to use for a slight fill in the sound so they are kept stock running from the bose amp for now.

The doors also got some sound dampening.

    Also replaced the broken armrest

Also all bulbs where replaced by led's and the rear window wiper was deleted and replaced by a glass plug.

Next up it was time to detail the car.
The car is in good shape, but the paint needed some slight attention.
There is more pictures of this process (in Norwegain) here: http://www.detailersclub.no/forums/t...di-s6-c5-avant

    So this is some highlights.
Started by inspecting the front fender after a pre polish wash.

    50-50

    Door 50-50

    Mirror and pillars

Driver side after rubbing, pre final stage

    Correct decals was installed

Some pictures of the finished product

Then i went ahead to redo the RS6 summer wheels.
Started off by sanding the few spots with damages, then i filled it up with some chemical metal before paint.
Then i started to paint them with rubber, peelable paint provided by Cardip
The color i wanted (Dark pearl gray metallic) was not in stock, so i went on by using the silver pearl for now.
After 7 layers of dip i used cardip topcoat to make the wheels shine, but also to make them stand up to chemicals and stuff.

Then i went on to paint the calipters as they where rusty and ugly.
The pads is going to be upgraded to EBC later so did not bother to mask of the pads now.
Also going to do a shine in the wheel arces, but the wheater is so bad atm, that im going to delay that work alittle.

So now its ready for summer, and i cant waint to try it out on a track! :D

I re colored the leather to nearly new condition :)

Then i installed a rear view camera, handy!
Together with coming and leaving home module.

Finished my stereo build by hiding the amplifiers, so now everything is hidden / looking stock

Replaced my steeringwheel with a redone wheel with some alcentara trim.

    Upgraded the subwoofer

After the trackday i had problems with soft pedal.
So i replaced the brake fluid and pads, the discs was ok.

Had to replace all the nippels on the calipers aswell as they where kinda beaten up.
One broke so had to do some machining work to fit a new nippel.

Also i did replace all the rubbers etc, basically reworked the whole calipers in the front.

Can you tell me more about your front Focal speaker install? I was under the impression 6.5"s wont fit the front doors. What model Focal did you use. I havea set of PS165s that i would love to install in my RS6.

Sorry for the waint, havent seen your post until now :)

Its quite straight forward on the C5.
I installed a set of FOCAL R-165S2 and it was basically just to bolt on, space is no problem at all.
The holes does not line up perfectly but with some wiggle you should get it seated without to much of a hassle.
You could also make a pair of wooden rings to use as an adapter if you want to.
