Rear shock mount won't come off shock?

Does anyone have ideas? Can't really use heat since the rubber. I've sprayed and sprayed with WD40. Hit the Thread with hammer while strut was held off ground and nothing. PITA Also no one in my area stocks this part so that doesn't help to buy new.

You did remove the bolt (red arrow) correct?

If so, then just support the shock mounting bracket underneath the two bolt attachment flanges and use a hammer and block of wood to pound down on the shock rod (yellow arrow).

Rear shock mount won't come off shock?

Super dodgy but I did this once by getting the strut of the shock in a vice to hold that still and have a good go at it that way. Only useful if you are changing the shocks though as they are sort of sacrificial

Who here has replaced their mounts when doing new shocks? I am OEM replacing with OEM at 140k miles. Was it necessary?

I did replace my mounts on my sedan at around 75k miles when I did the shocks/springs. It was a FL/CA car.
Rear was in fantastic condition (but its more like a bushing+mount for the shock, my spring mount I replaced with the adjustable unit bottom the top was fine.) the fronts were showing some compression of the rubber at that mileage.
    I used Lemforder.
