    help identifying some connections

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
doing somewhat of a wire tuck/organizing/hiding, and i've come across a few that are not hooked up, and need some help, found most but now im tired of searching and having 30 tabs open :p
keep in mind i have a ATW engine code,

first up is this gray/white connector (wires look to be brown and white with red stripe) that sits on the same bracket as the ac connectors and electric fan connector:

that sits and connects to the one here

2nd (part of the harness on the driver side fender, pic not much help/info but the wire colors are brown with white and green stripe

these two for the b5 gods, i realized my pics aren't much help i will try and get out tmr and get better pics but here you are,
all pulled from the same harness

i think this one is a 3 connector 2 brown and one brown with red stripe

the same 3 pin connector again so you can see wires, at top left of pic

    EDIT!

    EDIT!

EDIT: went back through my 100 tabs again to make sure i didn't miss anything, and i think i found that 3 pin connector above, walky talky called it the cooling fan switch connector, hoping he can chime in and double check that: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...!-!-98-A4-1-8T

Do you have access to any bently material/ diagrams? If not I can find the ones in my book and Send em over. The only one I can maybe identify is the 3rd from the bottoms with your hand next to the abs pump, it may possibly be a connected for one of the 2 solenoids under the intake manifold? Again, don't know for certain and not sure if you have those accounted for

Two up from the bottom goes into the radiator above the outlet/inlet hose on the bottom

I think the white and purple one is for fog lights, but I'm not 100% it'd be drivers side.

4 down fromthe top might be air intake temp on your intake manifold.

    Green and brown not sure..

thanks for the replies, the last plug (last two pics) went to the radiator like vrmm says, now the others i know for sure are not IAT, TB connector, either solenoid plugs, MAP, that whole harness has been accounted for. These plugs are on the driver side harness coming out of the fender, next to the headlight harness, and running behind the PS Res. Deff going to check out the possibility of fog lights because the PO removed them :), oh and my headlight washer nozzle doesn't work either could be a plug for that...and those black module things that look like a horn under the bumper support, maybe those are missing plugs....will fill anyone in later

EDIT: i think i found the 2 pin plug with the solid brown with white and green stripe, at the last pic in this thread, http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...HID-Conversion, The OP has the same color coding plug in his driver side fog light, so before i assume can anyone else chime in?

Sounds like you came up with a good possibility. White and purple for headlight nozzles (it definitely goes in that area) and brown and green for fog lights. I took my fog lights out a couple years ago, so I can't really help with that.

i spent another 2 hours through google images, ebay listings, and diff forums i came up with the "microswitch alarm plug" for the hood latch sensor. From reading about it it's supposed to bypass the alarm so you can't arm it when the hood is open, just haven't verified that it applies to my ATW Harness, looks to be for facelift only though, and it has the same White/Purple connector, just different color wires, both brown while mine is brown/white with red stipe..., will spend some more time out there after work tmr...., not having a garage sucks....but on the bright side my bay looks so empty :D

Ahhh! You don't need to have it hooked up for your alarm to work properly(at least in my experience). I broke that little micro switch a long time ago and haven't had an issues. Perhaps someone will steal your engine, but that's about it ;) I arm my alarm with my hood open all the time. Weeks on end. I guess that's why I didn't recognize it.

I'm curious what that green connector with the green wire is for. I have that thing dragging on the ground more often than not..

so to update this for anyone the white and purple connector plug is the hood sensor alarm bypass or alarm "microswitch" sits between the two coolant fans right on the hood latch

    here is a pic:

The green and white/brown plug with yellow paint on it was the fog light connector

the big insulated plug was the 3 brown/ 1 brown red plug goes to the bottom of the radiator its the cooling fan switch with it unplugged your ac fan will only turn on when used not by temp

the green to green connector is for the ac compressor on my atw

and this is as far as i go with hiding wires in the bay until i BAT, then will shave and tuck even more
will be just maf on exhaust side,
IAT, TB connector, oil temp sensor and map on the intake side
    just the bare necessities
