    Question about seat swapping

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys. I have a 2011 prestige package a4. My old bosses wife has a 2012 s line. She wants to swap seats with me. Hers are heated as are mine. I just want to know if all the connectors are the same and if I can swap them without causing any problems or glitches in the system?

You may need to go to the Audi dealer afterward and have the component protection removed. So I've heard, no personal experience.

It's to prevent auto theft, so thieves can't strip cars and just swap any part in.

Sorry guys just want to confirm that if I swap the seats I need to take the car to the dealership or can I fix that protective theft issue with my vagcom?

There is no "Component Protection" feature with the seats...that's just for stereo/nav components. And there is no coding to change.

I will be swapping seats in the near future as well. I can get back to you on this. Not sure how urgent. But either way you can probably just swap the seats and then if a light comes on or something just have the dealer clear it. Or take it to your local tuning shop.

Its not like you would swap the seats and the car will shut down :)

Only memory seats have component protection. Swapping seats is otherwise plug-n-play, and the connections for regular and sport seats are the same, as long as you have electric lumbar support or adjustment in your old seats. If not, you'll need to run power wires to get these functions to work.
