    I had one a few months ago since I had to run close to 40 cars. Expired now.

    Go on Craigslist for one, people charge like $2, easiest way.

    Not a scam, but definitely not the end-all be-all. No replacement for a full service history and a thorough pre-purchase inspection by a qualified mechanic, IMO.

    This. If a CF report is something you're asking others to perform for you, then you will probably have trouble paying for a car in this category.

    Then again...it's not even an Audi.

    Lots of people buy the 5 car deal and have some left over they can use. Or people have unlimited, so whats wrong with trying to save 35 bucks if someone can do it for you and doesn't mind. I had someone do one for me on here for a beater jeep that was 7k to buy. Its not a big deal.

    +1. It is not a big deal because people offer to run CF reports all the time here. It is not like he is asking for money because he can't afford a tank of gas.

    This happened to me once, a dude driving a civic asking 10 bucks from me for gas, because he needs to drive back to Portland from Seattle and his gas tank is empty..I gave him 10 bucks but kept wondering why did he drive to Seattle in the first place if he didn't have money to go back...

    I remember going from San Diego to Los Angeles in my old '81 Firebird. We ran out of money and gas halfway back (was dropping into neutral EVERY downhill, but it wasn't enough lol). Obviously we weren't good at calculating fuel economy. Luckily my buddy had about 10 porno mags with him he sold to some random guy at the gas station for some cash. Got us home lol.

    you can start an ebay auction and provide VIN, it usually gives you a watered down version of the car fax. still helps though.

    just end the auction right after you grab the report.
