    fuel pressure gauge question

Having some sporadic long cranking start issues. I'd like to start with testing fuel pressure testing and would like to know what others have done for fuel pressure gauge install and what size of fittings are needed to splice into line before fuel rail? Thank you for any help.

Is the long crank happening under certain conditions, such as sitting for a long time?

I haven't looked at the fuel rails in a while, but i would think you just splice into the return hose:

Generally yes. The longer it is sitting the longer it cranks. The f.p.r is fine. Thinking clogged open injector or old plastic feed line leaking in tank.. the c.p.s is not the issue.

Probably the check valve in your pump or regulator leak down.

I bought a fuel injection test kit from Harbor Freight and while it's not a permanent addition to the engine bay it did include every adapter I could imagine and it works.

    Update:
I Found the pressure loss at fuel filter. Fuel Line has small Crack and leaks where it attaches to bottom of filter.

Does someone sell those short lines from fuel tank lid to filter??

And the fuel pressure gauge needs to be place between the fuel pump and the FPR, as close to the fuel rails as possible. If you place the gauge after the FPR in the return line, you wont be reading the fuel pressure that the injectors see.
