audi b7 hood latch sensor. location of it!!?

so my hood says its open when it is not, i checked it like 3 times and closed it as well. so that leaves me to only one thing the hood sensor needs to be replaced. does anyone know where it is or how it can be changed. i followed the wires but couldnt find it.

It should be located on the lower hood latch mechanism.
