    Waste gate has 2 ports!?

    This new waste gate has 2 ports on it, one in front like my original k04 and one on the side facing the block. What's that about, can I plug it so it doesn't function?

    wikipedia: A dual port wastegate adds a second port on the opposite side of the actuator. Air pressure allowed to enter this second port aids the spring to push harder in the direction of closing the wastegate. This is exactly the opposite of the first port. The ability to help the wastegate remain closed as boost pressure builds can be increased. This also adds further complexity to boost control, requiring more control ports on the solenoid or possibly a complete second boost control system with its own separate solenoid. Use of the second port is not necessary. Secondary ports, unlike primary ports, cannot be simply attached to a boost control line and require electronic or manual control to be useful. C02 can also be used to apply pressure to the second port, to control boost on a much finer level.

    My Mazdaspeed uses a 2 port actuator. One port goes to the compressor housing, and the other goes to the boost control solenoid. This method of boost control is considered a "bleed" type.

    Don't plug it. Leave it vented to atmosphere

    I imagine because it will create a vacuum on that port when the diaphragm tries to move.

    I would be worried that that vented port would allow moisture and debris to get into the wastegate and it wouldn't last very long.

    Pic? I run an app with an ewg. It has a top and side port. Top port is vented, and side port is used for boost control. But the way you are describing it, there are two side ports.

    And now that I think about it, I may have two side ports and one top. Top is vented, while I use one side port for boost control and other side one is capped off.
