Considering selling my RS

My wife and I are putting a bid on a house - first time buyer! With all the cost that goes into buying, getting things in order, fixes, etc., the extra cash will be helpful. I need a good starting point.

Clean title, AMD HP kit (16k miles on the kit), EBwerks exhaust, BC Forged wheels and MPSS tires have tread on em!, JHM SS, HR springs, no leaks on DRC, Spec clutch, single mass FW, body in great shape with typical spackelling of front bumper (no clear bar), interior is clean, well maintained.

approx 96k miles and driven less now as I have my second car.

If you are set on buying a house, and you need more money, selling your car makes a hell of a lot of sense. Particularly when it is not a necessity car like the RS.

While I also agree that the market is high, this country is so incredibly fucking shortsighted and stupid that even if there is another crash, in a few years the cycle will start over again. People don't have attention spans anymore, so if you are buying with the intent to live there for a decently long time (5+ years) I think you'll be financially safe.

If you are not flipping houses, or your job requires to keep moving, then you are fine. Most of the time, you can rent the house/condo out to recoup if you are really in the shitter, but the longer you hold it, the better off you will be. Its cliche, but location location location. A sweet house in a shitty area is more volatile than a okay place in a good area. I've always bought downtown condo's, they move quick, super easy to rent out, highly sought after and low inventory all the time.

I bought my first condo in 2006 (lol), rode out the 07 and 08 while I was "under", rented it out for a few years, sold it high in 2014.

Why don't you see what S4Per sold his for? That would be a good starting point I would imagine.

his was just listed for sale at a dealership in Texas with 75k miles on it [I think] for $32,000. @Peter1.8t bought it so if he wants to say what he paid, that's up to him.

If you already saw a house and you like it and you think u gonna live there for at least 5+ years, yea go for it! I bought my condo about 2 1/2 years ago and already thinking to move to a single lot house some time soon, and maybe rent this one out , but you know bay area peninsula prices are CRAZY HIGH!

Yea I know, but that was a steal of a price and I think the dealer probably wanted to dump it. I'm referring to what he originally sold it for to the private party.

Bay Area is horrible and so expensive! Thinking more about it, I'll need to sell the RS

If you sell your car with that mod list, and the AMD supercharger for the mid 20s, I'll take 2 please. Lol.

Seriously I would sell the wheels separately, and get an idea on the rest from Per.

Hate to say it but yeah..mods or no mods. Don't see a almost 100k rs4 breaking 30k. Definitely sell mods before listing. PLus your tax break for being a HO will start to add up for a new car/toy fund

The dealership low balled themselves and dropped the price further, and fixed the front bumper damage that it had when Per sold it. I agreed to the price and sent the money the next day. Not sure why they did that, maybe they thought the car was stock, or maybe the idea of cash over financing was better for them. Who knows.

I agree on selling the wheels separately, but I think mid 30's is pretty achievable. Who knows with these supercharged cars though, they have had a hard time selling in the past.

Thanks for all the input everyone. I think mid $30's is reasonable also. Seen a number of mid 80k to 90k mi cars in that range. Probably will sell the wheels first.

A lot of numbers on their website. You can also email them for more information regarding the kit. It's available in a low pressure and high pressure configuration.

Was cool.. We got there a little late so missed the Penske part of it. They had a B9 A4 I heard. Headed straight to the Observatory and checked out some stars and planets then did a mini night shoot nearby.
