    Few Issues Trying To Resolve.

So, I got an 04 A4 3.0 Quattro from my in laws. I've done all control arms, suspension, and fixed a few interior problems.

I have a long list of things to do and tackling a few issues now. The car has 192k miles.

I'm replacing my driveshaft and output shaft seal now. But, when I pulled the drive shaft down there were no shims. Everything I have read talks about how important these shims were. Any idea on what I can use or if the 3.0 B6 came with them? Are there any other things I should replace while my driveshaft is off?

Also, I was replacing the fuel filter and I saw that whoever replaced it previously broke one of the clamps that go into the fuel filter. I saw a replacement hose is 75-100 dollars. I tried using a dorman 5/16 clamp, but it doesn't go past the collar on the filter. Does anyone know of a replacement? I was debating attaching the line with an otiker clamp or screw down clamp. But, it's fuel so I'm a little leery.

I had no shims on my 3.0 drive shaft. Also, if that hard fuel line breaks on me, id replace it with a rubber line. That is, if its the line that goes to the pump, not the filter.

    No shims here, either.

Thanks, I'm glad at least a few other members with 3.0's helped resolve my driveshaft question.

It's the soft line from the tank that goes to the fuel filter. The tab looks like it was sheared off, so when I start the car it's a fairly large fuel leak. I'm trying to source a replacement clamp or find a viable solution maybe someone else has done.
