Found an B8 Avant - Questions

Hey Fellas!! First thread.

I am considering 2011-2012 B8 A4 Avant Premium Plus with Sport and S-line. There are a couple available as of this post but all have had minor accidents. Would you guys consider purchasing a car with minor parking lot damage (replacing hood, bumper, grill, both fenders)? The cars I'm looking at have roughtly 50-60k miles and asking 25-26k similarly optioned.

I wouldn't ever look at that car for that high of a price if it has those damages.

I agree ^. That's way too high of a price. Especially with damage.

According to KBB, a 2011 Avant with Prem +, B&O, backup camera, nav, F&R side airbags, heated seats, sport, 19 inch wheels is only $22-23k if in VERY GOOD condition which is only 23% of car.

So, $25-26k is a bit high. Sounds like dealer pricing or someone who is starting high.

To answer your question, parking lot damage, not a big deal FOR ME as long as the paint etc all matches and you can't tell any more. I would start at $20k with evidence of the fact that fair market value according to sites like KBB and Edmunds price it at $22-23k and deduct for the damage. See where they go from there.

Replacing hood, bumper, grill, and both fenders sounds like quite a parking lot accident!

It took a while for me to find the right B8 Avant. I was patient and did not want to get into something with any damage. Agee with others that given your description, the price may be too high.

Thank you guys for your replies and talking some sense into me. I have decided to continue looking for an accident free example. The "parking lot damaged" car in question had quite a bit more damaged than described after the owner showing me some pictures before the repair....😳😳😳

Good choice, you don't want to deal with little accident gremlins that are below the body panels.

Also I'd say that depending on the Avant's configuration KBB may not be accurate; they are definitely sought after by a certain subset of the market (Audizine people mostly) and that rarely is factored in accurately to their values. $25-26k doesn't seem unreasonable to me for something like a clean history Prestige B&O black optics sport package car.

If you want a 2011 A4 Avant from the original owner, I am in the process of selling mine. The problem is, I live in Canada so you would need to import it. Looking at the rules, it seems like a fairly straight forward process.

2011 A4 Avant: S-Line, 8sp Tip, Navi, B&O, Advance key and Push Button start, Adaptive lights, 19" Wheels with 255/35 R19 Dunlop Maxx, Garnet Red with the Alcantara Seats. Currently in storage and shows about 46,000 Km's (28,500 miles). I also have a set of 2012 A6 19" Sport wheels with Blizzaks available.

No accidents or claims and I have all the paper work from Day 1.

I believe I stated that I was in the process of selling. It's not officially for sale yet.

When I do, I will post an all inclusive price. (2 sets of wheels and tires, roof cross bars and a Thule Ascent box).
