    FUEL PUMP/Filter

When filling with gas tank does not register when full and also cannot hold gas pump handle at full fuel speed clicks off have to hold half way. I've been doing some reading and these seem like common problems. Local Audi deal quoted $900 for fuel filter, pump and another part. They also removed a large mouse nest. .....Just curious If anyone has suggestions. Seems like alot of people opt to change charcoal filter and lines. Any help or threads would be appreciated. I'm a DIYer
    Thanks in advance!

    How much DIY exactly? :)

Disconnect the battery; I don't remember doing that, but you should; and it's in the official writeup. Not sure if mentioned in DIY.
The fuel filter itself, underneath the rear passenger seat, is an easy enough job; there's a great DIY on the forum. I got most of my parts there, except the filter, at the dealer. Just a new gasket for the union nut, but you may want to get a new union nut as well, if you aren't getting the tool, as you will probably damage it a bit in getting it off. That one has a fuel sender unit; if that's the pump you're talking about, then just get the alldata on it; for $25 you get the whole procedure right there. Plus parts ofc. Or you can judge from there the value of what any dealership will do.

If they're talking about replacing the HPFP, the labour is easy and quick, just the part itself you need to get.

Thankfully, I've only had one or two occurrences of not being able to fill the tank to full; all I ever did was change the filter.

    Good luck!
