I'm guessing its the "entry" level R8 since there is no V8 anymore, and will be the same power plant for the RS5 variant.

Agreed. I actually wanted an S4 Avant but since we're being denied I ended up going with the SQ. Would have bought an Allroad if it had a supercharged v6.

I drove the B8.5 S4 Avant when i was in Europe for 3 days. the SQ5 is the closest variant we will get. About 500 RS6 Avants will be making their way stateside in the next couple of years, but once again the new RS4 Avant will not be coming

I'm happy to see it. The 4.2 never deserved to be in the R8.

At least a TTV6 R8 will be fast.

The V6 R8 is a Twin-Turbo, should be awesome, light, with great tuning potential.

Audi will still retain the viscous quattro system on S/RS models, the quattro ultra will be on the more pedestrian models.

From what I hear, AoA is promising more S/RS models like the ROW...S/RS6 should be out in 2019 about a year after the new A6 in 2018.

I have seen the actual letter with Scott Keough's signature. Decisions can always be changed though

Yep the V6 in the R8 is twin turbo. Should be pretty amazing. Especially from a tuning aspect.
