Can anyone list top oil leak sources in our RS4s? I've searched and seems like they are all over the place.

    Here's what's going on..

We're going to clean up all that mess and then check it out in a few days to get a better idea of the source. Before we go in deeper just want to see where the top 5 oil leaks come from??

Thanks for any help! BTW this mess took about 4 months over the course of 2500 miles. NEVER leaked out of the plastic splash guard onto garage floor, but I want to get this taken care of soon.

Probably not top 5, but the one I dealt with was the timing chain covers (warped). That sucked.

I will be watching this thread. I have an oil leak in the same vicinity as well. Looking forward to what you find out as I still have a couple of weeks before I can look at mine.

I thought oil cooler lines were the only real source of oil leaks. Koolade would know better than me. Surprised he said front main seal.

front main, or oil filter housing. do the carbon cleaning, and oil filter housing seals together.

    Another (slow) oil leak thread

Well, just wanted to circle back to update you guys. Oil leak is taken care of!! Looked like the oil cooler seals were the culprit. It was a very slow leak that was only revealed when pulling the plastic splash shield, but needed to be addressed.

While the car was in service mode we went ahead and replaced:

    Oil pan gasket
    Oil cooler seals
    Valve cover gasket

As well as some fun stuff..

    JHM LWCP
    034 torque mount
    Drive belt

Also want to add that my shop (Eurozone in Hollywood) did a hell of a job with this Ronaldo updated me throughout the entire process with pics and texts. Always nice to know the current status of your baby!

Really loving the JHM LWCP! Shifting from 1-2 is smooth like butter now. That jerkiness that I had from time to time is gone! Really improved the "drivability" factor I'd say. For the price, a must! Of course wait to do it when you're in service mode so it's easy as pie.

And the 034 torque mount is a nice little upgrade too. Especially when the OEM one was completely shot!!

    And some picture whoring..

Thanks for the update, glad you got it fixed.

I recently had the oil pan resealed, JHM oil coolers lines, and JHM LWCP as well. It's been really nice so far.

I often look at some of the other colors for our car with envy, then pics like this show up and remind me why I like it in black. All of your gaps are perfect!

Do you not drive your car? How do you have so few rock chips?

Hah I do drive.. But not crazy miles.
    I'd say about 6K a year.

And no road trips really, just local LA/OC/SD. Love that LWCP..wish I put it in years ago!!
