    2.8 30v Fuel Injectors

I noticed a while back that 1 of my injectors was red while the other 5 are blue.
A cursory investigation revealed that it had 4 holes vs the 2 holes on the blue injectors. Assuming this was the only difference, I put it out of my mind.

Fast forward to today when I learned through some forum reading that the red injector flows 310cc compared to the 252cc flowed by the blue injectors.
Considering this, it's no surprise that the engine runs a bit rough as half of the cylinders must have the wrong AFR (~8% less in cylinders 1&3 and ~8% more in cylinder 2)!

Rather than find a used 252cc injector, I'd rather get 6 new updated 310cc injectors but am unsure how much better the OEM injectors are compared to aftermarket.

    ECS lists 6 brand-new OEM red-top injectors for $536.64 (12 months/12,000 miles warranty)
    Rock Auto lists 6 brand-new SMP red-top injectors for $298.74 (3 years/36,000 miles warranty)

    Your thoughts?

Rock auto usually sells good stuff. Are the SMP red tops reputable?

SMP is pretty well known as a parts store brand.
I might just order a set and RMA it if it seems to be poor quality.

Got my SMP/Intermotor red injectors and they actually appear to be OEM.
They have an audi part number and an Audi logo on them exactly like the OEM pictures on ECS.

Much smoother engine operation and no more long cranking/false starts however I am now getting p0422 and p0423(pending).

Does anyone know if there's a software update that is supposed to go along with the updated injectors or will the fuel trims adapt to the higher flow?
