Oil on sale at Canadain Tire .

Just wanted to give you guys a a heads up that oil is on sale at Canadian Tire

The 5L jug of Castrol syntec 5w40 with titantium is on sale for 32.00

The 4.4 l jug of 0w40 of mobile one is on sale for 40 bucks.

Steer clear of of Castrol, mobile one is a much better choice

Better ? based on what evidence ?

I ran Mobil one for quite some time in various cars and found it a good oil at a premium price. Not a premium oil at a premium price.

I said Castrol not mobile one. Castrol says right on the bottle "not for sale outside North America" and talking to numerous friends @ audi of Canada and former Audi techs. They all have said that the Castrol blend sold at the dealership is garbage. As well it doesn't meet European standards. Hence the not for sale outside North America. Even the dealer 505.01 has this listed.

thats actually a good sign its grabbing contaminants and holding them in suspention

I haven't done my first oil change yet but I've added a quart of Castrol Edge 0w-40 into my engine. I purchased a 5.5L Castrol Edge 5w-40 but I don't know if I should use that or Mobil One 0w-40.

used to be 4.4L Mobil 1 for around $32 - $34 .. now $40. Not really a good buy. will wait for the next time

Not sure you will see that again for a few years while $1.00 USD is $1.40 CAD . But fair enough.

I grew up in the Mountainside area. :)

Unless the Castrol is the German (Euro) type, I wouldn't use it.
Mobile 1 was downgraded/downrated years ago to a lower Group level. I wouldn't touch it either.
It's all in the www.bobistheoilguy site.

I use Motul all the time but have also used Fuchs in my older Audi which is comparable to Motul.
Euro spec Shell would be good if it was available as well.
I use Amsoil in my high HP weekend car.

so both mediocre oils at mediocre prices .. oh well sale is over anyway.

wow mountainside ? I lived behind Mount royal plaza on meadowbrook for a while as a kid
I don't think they even call it Mountainside anymore . Only old timers know that phrase.
