    Fan Control Module Version

It seems my fan control module is shot and I'm looking for a used one, but there seems to be at least three versions for B6 A4s. I checked ECS and apparently there's 300w and 600w versions. Does one perform better than the other? Will it affect performance if I get a different version than I currently have?

IIRC the 600w version is for auto/CVT since the radiator has to cool the trans fluid as well; not positive but think the wiring might be different between the two versions

The wattage relates to the maximum fan load in watts the fan controller is rated for. The different engines use different wattage fans, the highest is for the V8 in the S4, and in other countries if the car is equipped for Hot Climate cooling and HVAC. You can use a higher wattage fan controller, but not less than the original part. The fan controller does not control the watts power supplied to the fans, that is a function of the watts power rating of the fan motors. The wiring is the same for all controllers.

So does that mean any B6 A4 fan controller would work without issues?
