New hybrid k04 option??

Saw a post on Facebook (of all places) from APR (of all people) about their new hybrid k04 turbo for the ea113 engine k04 transverse cars.

Now obviously it's geared towards the s3s and golf Rs and whatnot but we share the same engine more or less sooooooo....

What are you're guys thoughts. It sounds like a legit turbo but ive never heard of TTE (maybe because they're European?). But the potential power output of this turbo is intriguing. I wonder if the stock housings are going to end up strangling the top end compared to something like JHMs stage 3 kit which should hit similar numbers but probably has it beat on the top end.

Anyway I'd never seen this posted on here so I figured I would share and open up a discussion on its merits and shortcomings. And I know this isn't "new". It was released over a year ago. But I've still never seen it mentioned here until now.

It looks like it performs well. Someone got an 11.87 at 119mph timeslip with it. The price is well over that of a larger efr turbo though.

They make turbos for the 2.7T, too. My impression is that they make very well-engineered and high quality products.

Remove 19% tax from the price. So, if you recondition a blown K04 that you get for next to nothing, the price is only €1376. Convert that to USD and you're looking at about $1516 plus about $100 shipping. All in, that's not a bad price for this snail.

I have seen this before. It is said to be around the same size as the BW 6758 from what I have heard. Be interested to see what it can do on the b7. Looks to spool really quick still

It has a 2871 compressor and k16 turbine. Pretty much no longer a k04 ranged turbo.

Yea the few shops I talk to say it acts closely with the EFR 6758. Its like a mid range turbo. Seems impressive. But that cost you would be better off going bigger.

True which is why a lot of us went with the k04 anyways. low to mid range with some high end.
