    Those with 10.5" wide wheels

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'd like to reach out to those running 10.5" wide wheels, I'm not too concerned about rim diameter than I am about tire size. What size tires are you running and if you could post a picture I'd greatly appreciate it. I am still trying to figure out what size I want to run on a new set-up I will be picking up soon. I am leaning towards a 275/30/19 but may make the jump to 285. Thanks in advance!

285 is too wide unless you go with a narrow tire like a Hankook V12 which are actually 275 width. On a 19" wheel, a 275/30/19 fits really well. On an 18" like I am running, 275/35/18 is the way to go.

Fender fitment is can be seen on the white car here:

Thanks for the info Ben! Out of curiosity what offset are you at in this picture?

Yeah, Ben nailed it. The 285 hankook v12s are the same width as the 265 RS3s. 275 is the way to go

I got 19x10 ET29 OZ Ultraleggera HLT rims with 275/35 ZR19 Michelin Pilot Super Sport installed on mine and they fit like this.

The Michelin is a very wide tyre due to a thick side wall. I'm on stock ride height and DRC suspension. The tyre size causes no problem with spirited driving, but under track conditions the tyre gives a bit way just enough to rub a bit. On this picture you can see where they rub a bit under very hard cornering.

Here you can see how far over the rims edge the tyre wall actually reaches.

Good to know a 275/35 on 19 will fit. I wanted to go this route instead of 275/30 but wasn't confident of fitment on a +25 offset. Rolled fenders and maybe a little extra camber would likely be needed.

@NYC_Legacy; Much obliged to help. I wasted hours calculating and busting my balls if these would fit before I bought the rims and tyres.

The only time it rubbed was in some VERY tight corners on the track - when the shocks were completely compressed. It slightly grazed the rear wheel wells and on the front the inside wishbone. All suspension setting = STOCK.

If you'll put ET25, that's 4mm more out than my ET29. The rear would be fine with a small camber adjustment if you have adjustable arms. But at the front a 10" wide rim would poke-out from under the fender.
For me at the front 10" rim and ET29 the rim is completely and absolutely straight with the fender, but then the Michelin bulky side wall pokes-out just a smidge.

Matt, every time I see you car I wish I would have bought it, but Sprint Blue just got to me. Pics help a great deal, I'm 99% sure I am going to go 19x10.5 with an offset of ET 23 or 22mm on a 19x10.5 as seen in this members car below (265/30 tire). Although I know we are talking fractions of an inch and camber also plays a big roll in things. Perhaps why your ET25s look to "poke" a bit more.

I have 19x9.5 though, so it should fit quite nicely.

I know this is an old thread, but I am looking at the same wheels. 19" just doesn't seem to cut it on the RS. These are 265/30 in the pictures would 275/30/20 fit without fender modifications? I'm on H&R coilovers. Also want a wheel that I don't have to run spacers on...love my Forgestars as they are super lightweight for their size but they seem just slightly too small.

I didn't know you were in Oregon. What area? I've got family scattered all over the PNW. Brother works at Nike and lives in Garden Home.

That rear end shot of your car looks sick.

I can see the sky cranes sitting on the Nike world campus from my house... so, Beaverton OR.... Garden Home is also minutes away depending on time of day.

After looking and searching, I've come to decide that 10.5" is too wide (for me and my taste) for a 20" wheel. It's too bad because I have always loved the BBS CH-Rs, but the widest they come in is either 20x9 or 20x10.5. It's a bummer because I think the right 20" wheel looks amazing on an RS. I don't dislike my 19's and someone should probably talk me out of changing wheels, but a 20" BBS CH-R is one that I would ditch my Forgestars for.

    Convince me not to!!!

Evasive lists a 20x10 ET18 (http://www.evasivemotorsports.com/mm...ode=BBSCHR_TNM), but that offset might be too much for our cars. Could always do the 20x9 then just play around with spacers until you get your desired fitment as well!

The 20x10 et 18 actually pushes the wheel out 1mm more than the 20x10.5 et25. If the right deal came up on the 9" wide ones I might jump on them. But until then I'll save the pennies for something else.

Hey sorry for the month delay in response...it’s hard to say really. It’d be a tight fit, regardless.

My setup rubbed very rarely. I was, however, on adjustable coilovers, which obviously allowed me a little flexibility.

Given you have that same flexibility, I would sure think you’d find the right setup which would give you a comfortable ride height.

At the end of the day, 20x10.5’s just look mean!

A couple more because I still miss her!

Will 20x10.5 et35 fit? I'm less worried about the fender as I am the inner rim to strut.

I think it would depend on what width of tire you're running as well, but I would prob still want to run a 10mm spacer with that setup to be sure/safe for inner clearance.

    I don't think he would be able to run a +25 on a 10.5 wheel. I'm on a 9.5 with a +26 and I'm right there on the fender.

It's possible, the pictures @ad2330 posted above of his former car were with 20x10.5 ET25 CH-R wheels and 265/35/20 Hankook V12 tires.

Exactly what I was basing my reply on. A few guys have run those CH-R's with great success with good lows.

Looks like no one ever responded to this...

There's no way you could fit that on a narrow body car. Did you end up trying?
