Is my car Flashed

Hey guys sorry in advance, did use search button but not much information came up, only a bit on the B5 platform.

- So i bought my 10' S4 two weeks ago and at the beginning when I test drove it, my buddy who is also the car salesman told me the car is flashed. I had a hard time believing it but it did pull off the line very aggressively, only comparison I have is my fathers 2014 manual S4, and I faintly remember the feel with my butt dyno, but my car does seem slightly faster ( maybe cause its DSG) but my question is, is there a way to tell if it is flashed, can i call APR ( the speculated company the dealer thinks, of course ) and give them my VIN ? is there another way without doing that? I find it odd because the car is in for service pulling codes and shouldn't it automatically be TD1'd when plugged into the OBDII port ? (if it is flashed) and if so, dealer should of definitely made me aware.

Yes you can verify with your vin and the vendors. Thats about the only route to go unless you can get the original owners name and number. If you bought it at an Audi dealership it most likely would have been flagged if hooked up the computer.

yes, APR keeps track of vins, so you can check with them. and also yes, if they plug in the reader to the car (obvious since you have errors), i you get TD1, you know its tuned. but with a 2010 you shouldnt have a warranty anyhow, so TD1 shouldnt matter

Well they told you it's flashed so you should already be flagged TD1

You can call APR or GIAC and give them you vin. They will be able to tell you if it's flashed or not. They won't be able to tell what stage. If you find out it's apr then take it to one of the local dealers and they will be able to give you the full details. If you are flashed and you car get scanned you will be Flagged. If you do a search there's a lot of threads on this topic. Some dealers will even flag you for having an exhaust or intake. Hope this helps.

Hey man I also ran into this a few years ago. I actually never found out who it was flashed with. After contacting everyone I came to the conclusion it was probably tuned with stasis. I ended up going to stage 2 epl anyways best of luck bro
