Help Diagnose a Chirp/Buzz from Dash?

    Hey Gang,

I have an interesting noise that just started occurring in my S4. It's seemingly random, or at least i have not been able to find a cause yet but i get a weird chirp/buzzing noise coming from the front of my cabin.

It occurs while stationary or driving, regardless of gear (6MT). It'll start happening with climate control on, off, or in any configuration of fans, temps, etc. It isn't consistent with any other controls on the dash either. Sometimes it will chirp once, and others multiple times as in the video below. For example, this morning on my way to work it made the noise for about 10 seconds while warming up in the driveway. The noise stopped for the majority of the commute, but chirped once or twice while on the highway. It happened again when i returned home, but this time it waited until i was in my driveway but not during the rest of the drive.

If you have a moment to watch and share ideas, i'd be very much appreciative. In this video i was able to capture the noise by activating and deactivating the climate control. This trigger does not always work. For this video i was stationary, in neutral, and had the e-brake engaged while the car was running and had been running for about 45 minutes.

Any info is very much appreciated. Hoping to get at least an idea of what it might be in order to assist with research or at the very least help me explain it to another human if i take it to a shop.

Sounds like one of your hvac door actuators. Best bet is to pull codes from your hvac control module ,that should point you in a direction of which one is causing that noise.

Thanks for the advice. I've tried the standard method (Hold Recirculation + Up Arrow), but am unable to access the 'hidden' climate control diagnostics. Am i missing something?
