    Audi A4 B8 4.2 V8 Conversion 6 speed manual

I came across a 4.2 V8 S4 engine along with a 6 speed manual. I have the tools to do so, but I have no idea where to start. I haven't seen any builds on this at all, but I'm going to try and do the first. What are some of the major supplies I need? engine and transmission will be purchased, will the transmission bolt up to the newer existing equipment is what I'm concerned about. The current engine is the 2.0T and I am aware I will need to do a few modifications to fit the engine for mounts and stuff like that. Anyone who has done a few engine swaps could you help me make a list of the parts and supplies needed? Thanks

Good luck with the engine harness and ECU. I can maybe see it as a track car, where you don't care about it integrating with the other modules. As a daily I think it would be an electrical nightmare on top of the fab work.

I would imagine that this can be done, even potentially as a fully integrated street car. I think you'd want to be look for B8 RS4 electrical parts, considering that it has a V8 in this platform. That motor isn't that closely related to the 4.2 you have, but it's a starting point. Getting a manual trans to bolt in shouldn't be a huge deal, but I would guess that getting the transmission wiring sorted out would be the biggest challenge. Good luck with this and I hope you see it through! Think about doing an RS4 body conversion while its apart to complete the look.
