    RS6 Steering wheel into A6 4.2

I am trying to get a RS6 Steering Wheel into my 03 A6 4.2, I do not want the paddle shifters to shift- I'd rather they controlled the volume on my Radio or did nothing at all.
Does anyone know what is necessary to do the aforementioned? Thanks!

I have a clock spring that came from a auto TIP car with the shift buttons on the wheel if interested. I also have a RS6 wheel on my 4.2 but went 6speed before getting the paddle shifts to work...:)

I literally just replaced my clock spring due to a steering wheel angle sensor code- may have bought the wrong one LOL.
But, I don't think I need a clock spring unless I wanted the paddles to shift. I want to make the shifters do volume control.
    I'll see soon

If your stock wheel is MFSW then just trace and test to figure out which wires control volume and then cut and splice your stock harnesses so you can use the OEM clockspring. That's what I did here, albeit it was a much simpler task since I was just converting tip buttons to paddle shifts. Honestly I use the paddles WAY more than I thought I would. I almost never upshift, and I'm never in the tip gate, but they are brilliant for downshifting for the best corner exit gear or for highway overtakes.
