weird radio behaivior B&0 2015 S4

This morning my radio is acting weirdly. I can not change the volume level using the control on the steering wheel or the control on the center console. It get message on the display where normally you see slide with numbers "currently unavailable" on all stations. Yet the volume controls on wheel & console work for the media CD player. Help!

This happened to me. They replaced the center console controls, reprogrammed, and everything has been working so far.

This has happened to me a couple times after XM goes through an update. Do a hard reset and it should go back to normal.

later version of MMI does not have a set up button. How to reset it?

haha my bad. I didnt even look at the picture. Instead, put your thumb on the "Menu" button. 2 and 3 are the same. Hold for a few seconds. When you let go, it should reset. It will take like 10 seconds to restart so don't freak out during this time.

disregard above message, MMI reset for later models is hold menu button, center button & right hand upper button together, My volume control came back BEFORE I did reset, but switching between the radio & media sometimes show "currently not available for a second, but volume controls on wheel & console still work. Service Adviser at dealer ships thinks there is a module in the trunk that is causing the volume controls on wheel & console to fail to respond.

Just turning the car off and back on fixes the problem as well. It's happened a couple times to me as well.

went to dealer today, has a long conversation with shop foreman. He thought "currently not available " on a monetary basis, is a software glitch. He offered to upgrade my software, said it could not hurt, BUT might not fix it. I decide to leave well enough alone. He cuould not guarantee my nav information would not be lost. This "currently not available " may be coming up as I am going back and forth between radio & CD very quickly and repeating the process. I can always up date soft ware at later date as I have almost 3 years left on the factory warranty. He stated the software on these cars is complex,with many loops.

This has happened to me. A 'reset' fixed it. I contemplated bringing it in, just to get an updated MMI with the newer cellular modem but decided to just to 'fix' it myself. 2013 S4 if that matters.

Not sure if the same applies to the B8.5, but in my B8 when I updated the MMI firmware all of my Nav destinations/settings were retained.

This happened to me on my 2017 S5 this morning after a Sirius XM channel update. I'll try the hard reset after work and report back. Frustrating. I don't even have 1,500 miles on the vehicle yet.

Same here. was pissing me off on the ride into work this morning. ima try the reset when i go to lunch.

Works fine now. didnt reset just turned it on and it worked. i turned the car off and on this morning when i got the update but i guess i didn't leave it off long enough.

They are still b8.5 cars, same as 2016 versions. But made again for 2017 model year and may still be available to order with 6 sp MT.

my problem disappeared in three days, not to return again so far. That was last February. The "currently available' will show when you have not completed switch between radio & CD and use volume control. Or when you loose HD radio signal and you try to change volume. Next electronic thing, got letter from Audi yesterdayfor ecm software up grade. waiting a few weeks to see problems after upgrade.
