Reading over the forums for the past couple days has led to a few questions regarding engine tunes/exhaust
    From what i have gathered:
    1) JHM downpipes are the way to go?
-are the fast intentions downpipes worth the extra 900$ over the regular piggies?
    2)JHM Cat-back 2.5s the way to go?
-As i understand these two things are needed for the JHM ECU tune...

Can someone verify these? And has anyone found that buying perhaps used DPs/Piggies, Cats, and finally an ECU tune is the best way to go? I have read numerous forums about the specifications, and are these 3 mods worth the money and do they work? I'm new to this so please be considerate when replying lol.

Looking for a canyon to carve.

JHM Solid Trio Short shift kit is absolutely critical. I recently drove an S4 without it and I can't speak highly enough of the mod. In fact, I'd skip the pipes and get the kit and the tune, then add the pipes - it's that amazing and has such a serious impact on the feeling of driving the car.

Piggies to proper CB is fine
Downpipes to proper CB is fine-ER.

If you want TRUE 2.5 exhaust setup, headers plus FI

Doesn't matter if you buy used or new; it's all in preference and how much you want to put out.

Grab a set of used downpipes and CB exhaust, there's a few floating around...save that money for the major mods if you do intend to go that route.

I did all three when I had my avant:

    Catless Piggie + FIs
    Catless Milltek DPs + FIs
    V1 headers w/ catless mids + FI

Diff between piggies and DPs is slight "pseudo-feel" on torque pull at low rpms but mainly acoustic

Biggest gains I felt were with the heads + headers + FIs; TRUE 2.5" exhaust flow

Another victim! Hah. Your wallet has no idea what about to happen to it.. One you tune and start modding the exhaust, it's all downhill from there.

    IM+Header+Catback+Tune + LW Crank Pulley+Snub mount+Density engine mounts

That's a start. Then you will want to SC.

If you want new cheapest bang for $$$$$$ is Milltek catless DPs and Magnaflow CB. But check the classifieds you might be able to find a nice fullback setup for the cost of a catback.

With milltek and magnaflow will i still be able to get a JHM tune? On the JHM website it says the tune requires their DPs and catbacks.

no, the JHM tune just requires you have a set of DPs (or piggies) and CB to fully take advantage of the performance; not necessarily their DPs and FI exhaust.

Oh okay i understand. Is the performance between JHM DPs/CBs and say milltec/magnaflow a huge difference?

the JHM/FI DPs are 2.5" ID whereas the Millteks are 2.5" OD; you won't notice the difference but the JHM/FIs are true-er to a 2.5" setup. in english, you'll be fine with the Millteks, the MagnaFlows sound good as well.

I liked my Milltek/FI setup when I had it

can you describe the difference. I have never driven a car that has had a short shifter put in, let alone the JHM Solid Trio.
I have watched some of the videos on the install so i know some of the upgrade is plastic to metal parts but if you can wax poetically about the feel a bit more i would appreciate it.

With the JHM tune you just need downpipes and catback for it optimally work. I had Milltek catback and FI exhaust before i got my JHM headers and it sounded loud and mean

Look for used stuff. I believe theres a FI exhaust for sale now. (click the link above)
