Did KW ever address the sagging issues on coilovers?

I am in the market for a coilover kit for my 2011 S5 Coupe. Will probably get the ST's as I am in S. Cal with great weather all the time.

Around 2011, people started posting about rear sagging issues here http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...-rears-sagging

I am not sure if they resolved this for the S5 (it now being 2016). I would be really sad if I had this problem. Or do you sill have to specify the "avant springs"?

I've had mine on 1 year on a 2010 S5. no sagging issues, but did initially have popping at low speed going over certain type of bump, but that cleared up

I hope so as I just installed the KW DDC ECU set up on mine.

Did KW ever address the sagging issues on coilovers?

I had sagging on my kW has rear spring 3 years ago but kW rectified it by shipping me new firmer springs. I can't imagine they would still be selling kits with the old springs as it's something they would have to warranty.

Although reading this thread makes me wonder...

It is something they will warranty though so I wouldn't let it stop you from purchasing

2 month ago, a ST owner had to make a warranty claim and get avcant rear spring.. so i would say they havent fixed the issue.

I highly doubt it's been addressed. I just had to fight with KW on 2 year-old V2's this year. They denied the issue, and used the "we can't confirm what's on internet forums" or "internet forums aren't a viable source of information" excuses. I have Avant springs now, but it was a pain in the butt to get them. Been about 6 months.

OK, I decided to take the bull by the horns and call ST I spoke to a gentleman there and he took tons of time to explain everything to me. My experience doesn't seem to align with many of the posts.

They were very helpful and did know about this problem. They told me it does not happen categorically and happens about 30 times out of every 1000 sets sold on the Specific S5 and S4.

They admitted they do not know exactly what causes it, but they suspect it is when people are outside the recommeded ranges of suggested heights. They also theorized that in some cases it may have been when people removed spacers (I am a little unclear here as I am somewhat ignorant to all this tech talk).

They said that in those cases the Avant springs seemed to help. They told me if I bought the kit and the rear sagging occurred they would send a questionnaire where a tech would write various measurements and get it back to them. They would send the Avant springs at no charge, but you would have to pay for Labor.

This dialogue did not seem like a company that was not aware, admitting, or willing to address a problem.

I also confirmed that the KW and ST springs were the exact same aside from the corrosion coating. They said the KW brand will have various models and improvements based on differences in cars (eg. weigh of 4.2 liter v8 vs weight of V6T) while the ST does not get t hat specific within models)

The rep on the phone spent a lot of time with me and was very helpful.

No difference in ride quality. I drove on them for about 500 mi, then got an alignment. Everything seems to be fine. On the old springs, I had the adjustment collars on the perches maxed out to maintain a 24.5" FTG, with no ability to raise the car. With the new springs, the adjustment collars are about 1/2 way down on the perches with a 25.5" FTG. I'll never buy another KW product though...and it's not just that I had the sagging issue, it's that they couldn't bother to find a way to move the dampening adjustments so we can access them on our cars. Want to adjust your dampening? Drill a hole in your strut tower, or drop the suspension.

The 4th rep I talked to was helpful in that same way (still beating around the bush, and denying the issue, though). Also, I still had to buy the springs, send in the old ones for testing, and wait for a refund...and they "lost" the old spring shipment. Mind you, this was with KW, not ST (I know they are the same company/product, but maybe the ST customer service is different).

Yes. I got mine for free after my installer called them and I filled out their warranty claim form with the measurements they requested. I'm done with ALL coilovers. Period

    Very disappointed with KW

[QUOTE=Jimmy ny;11421001]With the avant springs, how is it?

I am now being recommended by my Tuner to send the rears back in favour of Avant springs. On warranty.

We even tried KW spacers but the rears are still sagging.

It's not over for this issue - bought these V2 's last year for my 2012 S4. It's now Spring 2017 and the issue persists.

I just recently ran into this issue with the coilovers on my 2010 s4. Do you think I would still be able to reach out to customer service and receive avant springs at no charge? If not, does anyone know where I can purchase a pair? Am I better off just buying spring spacers? Thanks in advance.

Did you end up installing Avant springs? Thoughts? I recently ran into issues with my V1s and need a solution
