How often does your B&O radio cut out ?

I know this is a known problem. My 2010 didn't have B&O. so I never had that issue. Only had my 2014 for a yr. But the radio on my 2011 has now cut out for the 3rd time, but twice in a week. It comes back after I park the car for a short time. Also. I noticed I could play music from my SD card when the radio would not play. Is there a fix for this? I'm afraid that one time it won't came back on.

Mine does the same thing. Maybe once a week. I just reset it.

Sounds like an issue with a hot amplifier.

Odd, mine did it a few times early on but hasn't done it in a long time now, at least 3+ years. No idea what changed to make it stop.

Only have two issues - some strange popping noise (very subtle) that handles randomly and sometimes audio level becomes unchangeable. The audio is more annoying than anything.

One of the most annoying things is the mmi doesn't save what SIRIUS station I was on. Say if I turn off the car it goes back to the preview channel maybe 50 percent of the time.

I had it happen last fall and couldn't get it to reset and had to pull the manual out to remember the re-boot procedure.

It hasn't occurred since.

It hasn't happened to me. One time It didn't turn on when I started the car and I had to manual turn it on. But there is a guy that has updated firmware for the MMI maybe worth giving that a try if you are not updated to the latest and greatest.

MY cars B&O when I pass one spot on the highway gets stuck on and freezes, no matter what you do you cant turn it off. It is very frustrating, especially of you are using your gps and jamming out to loud music, It freezes, you cant turn the music down, and you get lost. The three buttons does not fix it, I have to pull over tun the car off open close the door and wait about 10 minutes.

I have learned to prep when passing this spot, its far from my home, but I pass it now and then with work. ITs always the exact same spot on the parkway.

Last Friday my wife and I were going to head out for lunch. When I started my S4 (it was parked in our garage), I noticed that it was updating the stations list. After I pulled out of the garage, the update completed and my radio start playing; it was on a SiriusXM station. But I could not control the volume through the steering wheel or the knob on the console. About 15 minutes later, we hit a stop light and I turned the engine off, waited a few seconds, and restarted it. Still no volume control.

When we got to the restaurant and I parallel parked the car, I got out to check its position (don't want to take the chance that someone might hit my front or back when trying to get in or out of a slot. So I got back in the car, started it up, and moved it a little and when I checked the volume control, it worked.

During this time, when playing music from a flash card, the volume control worked fine.

Is there a cell tower there? When my car did it it was always in the same spot too, right near a big cell tower with some microwave dishes on it. At the time I speculated it had something to do with cell/microwave transmissions. But I still drive by the same spot all the time and it doesn't happen any more so who knows.

Just the other day it did an update of the Sirius/XM stations and when it was done all my presets vanished. I was thinking maybe Sirius changed some channel numbers so the presets weren't valid any more but maybe it was something else, especially since some of the presets were broadcast stations.

I have a 2015 with the B&O and I've had zero of the issues listed in this thread. Mine has been completely solid.

That sounds super annoying. I would try updating the MMI firmware.

Huh. Never heard of this! Though I agree, sounds like a hot amp but who knows. My 2012 w/B&O has never done anything like this and I listen to it loud non-stop.

Got same issue as southern boy. My volume control on console and steering wheel would not work. Got message where the volume level normally appeared" currently unavailable" but this was only on the radio . On cd volume controls worked normally. After a few trips the volumes worked again. Occasionally I will see " currently unavailable" for a second when I flip between the radio and cd, but controls work. I rest midi after volume controls returned. I have appointment Friday. SA says they have seen problem before it is a module in the trunck

I had issues with my stereo cutting out and crackling , especially when i hit a bump on the road. It ended up being a loose wiring harness that's connected to the amp.

See the black harness with the purple thing connected to it? This is what was loose on my system. I ended up sticking a piece of sound deadening material to support the harness better so it doesn't come loose. I think my wiring might be a little stretched due to the aftermarket amp i have.

So those with intermittent crackling noises, try this: Turn on stereo and wiggle the wiring harness. If you hear crackling noises when wiggling, you have a loose wiring harness.

What is a full reset of the MMI? The 3 key reset? I am having problems with my B&O unit not having any bass. Took it to the dealer 2 weeks ago, they cleared codes and reset it. Worked fine for about 10 days, then stopped with bass again? It's in there today. Hopefully they don't try and charge me again, already paid $135 for "diagnostic" work the first time. Are you using HD radio? Mine did it for a couple of months when it was brand new (very annoying), but when I turned off HD radio, it never cut off again after that. So, I thought it was that HD radio is weak in my area. XM radio works perfectly fine.
