    Stage 1 with Dsg/Tcu tune

Planning in flashing to stage 1 (apr or giac). By adding the Dsg tune, will the fart between shifts go away? I tried searching the forum but could not get the exact answer. Also is it worth the extra $$$$. By getting the ECU stage 1 will it suffice? Or having this platform is the dsg tune a must? Feedback appreciated. Thanks.

The fart is there to stay. The tcu tune is not a must but is very nice. APR website will tell you all of the benifits of their tcu tune.

    Hello,

    I have APR Stg1 ECU + TCU tune. It's a verry nice combo !
(i like the auto up/down shift disabling features, and the rpm limit rasied since i have a 8.5)

I think that the DSG Fart is far less now with the TCU tune.

    Best regards,

    Mat

TCU tune on stage 1 is not necessary but it's nice to have. On the other hand, if you decide to go stage 2, you might need to put the TCU or you might experience hesitation or clutch slip between gears, due to the extra torque. I could confirm you that TCU + Stage 2 = no more fart at all.

EPL Stage 1 and DSG tune here, fart is more pronounced. Love it.

^^ not true at all. Farts don't go away with APR's tunes at all. If anything they will be a bit louder and you'll feel the car shift amazingly fast/faster. You won't (unless you have a problem already) see any slippage with the DSG Either. 6spd clutch is the weak point there, but not on the DSG.

Also, get the DSG Tune as it will open up the RPM's on your car to 7200 vs the short shifted version the B8.5's are cursed with from the factory.

Why no more fart? Considering stage 2 with TCU and would hate to lose the exhaust farts.

APR's dsg tune keeps the "farts." Only when you enter AMAX mode do the blip upshifts disappear

TCU tune is really worth it on a facelift model because of the lower redline from factory. Also is said to address some of the dsg quirks like the 2-1 downshift. I'd skip it at stg 1 for a 10-12 MY

If the fart is more pronounced with the tune even better. Not sure why Ti Chen experienced the opposite.

For the 2015's, the 2-1 downshift is very smooth and only does it if the car comes to a complete stop. I have noticed this when approaching stop signs and the car keeps it in 2nd when it is barely in motion and will not change it to 1st, which is great.

I should have specified that I don't have APR tune, my bad :). I have REVO stage 1+ (which is the equivalent of APR stage 2). I didn't put the TCU at first, I went only the REVO ECU tune stage 1+. The fart was already less pronounced. After tuning the ECU stage 1+, I found my DSG tranny hesitation or clutch slip feeling between the 1st and 2nd shift. After installing the REVO DSG tune, the hesitation or clutch slip is completely disappeared. Now all my shifts are fast and firm. As for the farts sound, it completely disappeared.

Well that's my experience with REVO and very happy with it!
