who makes aftermarket ones, I`ve seen guys running their 2.8 downpipes on 4.2 belt drive swaps so that leads me to believe the flanges are the same, would a set of SSAC B6 S4 downpipes work on a 2.8 5m/t?? my brothers car has a very patchwork exhaust on it with recipts in the glove box for 4-5 flex pipe replacements its going to be really hard to replace them again and both are now leaking, I don't care about how its going to mate up to the stock exhaust, we are going to replace that with my spare B5S4 stock catback and get them welded together.

The B6 S4 SSAC decat pipes don't work on a B5. I tried a pair on my B5 V8, and the dummy cats were pretty tight against the frame. I'm currently running a pair of B6 S4 Milltek decat pipes, and they're perfect.

Bear in mind, the B6 S4 does not use a gasket between the headers and downpipes, relying instead on built-in domed fire rings on the headers that mate with the concave / fluted ends of the downpipes. The flange collars are also floating, while the same on a B5 are fixed.

You'll still have the same problem bolting them onto the B5 headers, as far as sealing goes. You could always cut off the original B5 flanges, and weld them onto the B6 pipes.

There's a shop here in Toronto that has downpipes for super cheap, they're crush bent and look pretty nasty but as a stock replacement they'll do just fine. Also just an FYI, S4 catback on a 2.8 is pretty loud and drones heavy, I got annoyed with mine pretty quick.

I disagree. The stock S4 catback was excellent. Silent while cruising and loud as hell when WOT
