Hey guys. I was thinking about buying an intake for my 2005 audi a4 1.8t quattro but I was wondering because its a turbo car, will i need to get a tune because of the aftermarket intake?

Dont waste your money. The factory airbox on these cars are super efficient. Just get a k&n drop in filter.

You don't need to hear your K03 any more than you already do. Keep factory airbox and an Audi Filter. Get a downpipe/test pipe if you want to "hear" your turbo more.

It would benefit u in the long run by not buy shit u dont need because it has no real gain and use that to replace shit u are gonna need.

    He obviously wants louder DV-sound.
Do you NEED to have a car? Do you NEED to have an Audi instead of a Saab? Most stupid argument I've seen all week.

To answer you properly; if you want louder DV, replace your DV and get a "power"filter. Be aware that if you're not good with the maintenance this will do more harm than good.

Optimally, you should run the stock airbox. But I do understand why you want to replace it for sounds, as I have done the same thing on my B6 1.8TQ.

Get a cone filter and clamp to MAFS, get a billet diverter valve from FTG motorsports on eBay for $55 and have all the turbo sound you want.

Kids these days. .. Haha just joking..sort of.. anyway if you add an intake like the one suggested you will have secondary air flow faults, since you will be removing the air inlet for the secondary air system. This will obviously cause a CEL and will not set readiness and you will not be able to pass emissions if you live in an area that has them. Just keep that in mind when doing this. Like said above though the stock airbox is more than efficient.

Spend your money elsewhere. I ran an AFE cold air intake on my car for quite some time until a piece broke off, fell in the intake track and bent all the fins on my turbo. I can tell you personally my car drove and idled much smoother with the stock air box and K&N drop-in filter.

I bet the turbo made all sorts of cool noises after that! Maybe OP wants it?
