There's a ton of info on this. IIRC, most of it basically says that SMIC > FMIC and CX Racing = POS. ... I'd tend to agree IMHO. (Acronyms galore. )

SMICs might be better, but from my research you can't beat the performance/cost of a FMIC

Treadstone has what you need. Evo is decent too but at that power you might want bigger.vr6 swap no?

In this case yes, but the extra expense people don't factor in is cutting up the bumper aka permanently and irreversibly modifying your bumper.

bingo, taking what was once a valuable part of the car, and reducing its worth to just pennies. We wont get into looks as that is subjective, but I think I know where most people stand on that debate

~$450 for a FMIC and a hacked bumper... OOOOR $250 more for SRM SMIC that have proven results and keep bumper and foglights intact.

It really isn't that bad. I fit a 3" TR11 behind my A4 bumper and it looks fine. Even more room behind an S4 bumper. The only major part is hacking away at the bumper support. Of course I cannot run grills, but I am willing to bet you could with an S4 bumper.

My single intercooler fits perfect between the bumper and bottom bumper cover :-)

The vast majority of FMICs people run are for twins, so unfortunately that eliminates the possibility of fitting it in where yours is at.
