Hey Guys.
Hoping for some assistance with a few symptoms I've been having.
I've done a fair few searches and also had a couple guys look at the car but can't seem to find anything wrong (no codes) and I had the fluid changed about 5000kms ago but symptoms still there.
My car is a B7 A4 2.0T Q Tip and largely stock (only engine upgrade really has been a DV+) and cam follower was changed within 10000km ago (old one was in perfect though)
So the symptoms
- slightly rough idle - normally when my car is running well idle speed is 830rpm and you can't feel a thing through the cabin. However these days it is sitting around 780 with some vibrations through the cabin. Not enough to be uncomfortable, but enough to notice. Previously I have had periods where this has gone after adding injector cleaner to the tank but haven't been able to repeat the trick.
-when the car is warm especially (I mean driving around for a good 30minutes +) rolling to a stop the car will be sticking in 2nd until the vehicle is all but stopped and then lurch into 1st.
-on third when I go completely off throttle and then put my foot down (even under light acceleration) I can feel a little thump or clunk of somethings engaging.
-2nd to third gear shifts sorta lurch, slip and are delayed , especially when driving more aggressively - I have attached a video and you can see how the gear change sorta has two RPM drops which doesn't happen elsewhere. . Again this happens only after the car has Been really warmed up.
