    Exhaust & Exhaust tips

    hey guys

So after much re-search and deliberating I have decided to make my own exhaust for the SQ5, I'm trying to have no drone (or as minimal as possible).

I have been reading quiet a lot of threads and multiple pages primarily in the B8 S4 forums and my decision has come to the following:

Custom 2.5" stainless piping after the DP Res's. (haven't decided if I wanna remove the DP resenators or not primarily for drone)

    Magnaflow Resonated X-pie 2.5" in/out

    Stock Mufflers retaining the Valves.

Now my biggest problem is the tips, any one have an Idea for tips and the length of the tips on our cars if someone could measure I would greatly appreciate it as I'm currently in Iraq and my vehicle is in Canada but I'm trying to plan ahead and order parts as I'm never home for long due to my job.

I was wondering someone would have a good idea of which Tips to use or maybe someone has already changed the tips for cosmetic purpose. The measurement would have to be from post flap as thats where I would weld the new tips to keep my flaps, some have mentioned getting the AWE plugs for the valves but I want to retain the valves to keep the car quiet when I want.

    any input would be nice.

Hey buddy, Have Corey at Hot Rod Scott's make something for you. He did one on my SQ5 and it's really nice. I'm almost positive someone tagged youon ig when he posted it on his ig account. I'm pretty positive it was you. (instasammy86?)

You'll get better performance from larger down pipes, resonated or not.
Also, place the X-pipe exactly where the H-pipe is, since the location of it was calculated in ways we can't.
Of course, I suppose that could change by changing the diameter of the pipes.
That's where an exhaust pro comes in...if they're really a pro.

We'd be interested in hearing your setup once its done, Sammi. On a side note, in your sig it says you currently have our exhaust?

I will for sure share my exhaust here.

I will be making a custom Exhaust using your Resonated X-pipe and tips, custom 2.5" piping.

I should probably adjust the signature.

I was going with you axle back but this is just a pocket friendly with nearly the same outcome, a friend paid $650CDN for an axle back at an exhaust shop here locally using Magnaflow Mufflers for a SQ5, granted the muffler were not valved and that's my biggest thing I wanna keep my valves, but I want something from the Down-pipes back.

Anybody have a lead on some nice black tips that can be welded on to the stock exhaust? Prefer dual wall and not angle cut.

Thanks Turbo. The Milltek with cerakote look nice. I think those would be easier to clean?
