    Metal floor mats - questions

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Has anyone tried these out? My questions are:

Are they easy to get in and out?
    Do they scratch/wear?
    How much to they weigh?

I'd like to hear some feedback as well
Hopefully they aren't too heavy that they may tear up the underneath carpet

it looks kinda cool.. Are they actual one big metal piece? Or is that grid looking thing just a graphic? Its hard to tell, looks flat on some photos, like its just vinyl wrapped. I'm interested, since my weather tech mats sometimes gets stuck under my gas pedal, and scares the shit out of me from time to time.

They look "flat" in all pictures, but the ad says "REAL Flat black powder coated aluminum diamond plate"
Somebody take one for the team! :P
Jeremy Clarkson: "So when you were saying that it won’t slide, what you meant was, ‘I can’t slide it.’“

They are ugly. They look like they belong in a truck with that diamond plating.

If someone wants to make a track mat for this platform, at least make the design worth putting in the car, line Rennline does. I have a set of these in my GT3 and they are nice. uncomfortable but nice.

Agree with Raudi, looks like something out of the 'car modz' section at walmart.

I've seen these in person cheap ebay crap. They are one piece of metal sh$t. Waste of money. This stuff reminds me of the NOPI days. If I didn't know any better, I would think that I was on a Civic forum

That guy posted somewhere else online trying to sell them, one of the questions I raised was if there was a lip around the outside of the metal. There isn't, kind of defeats the purpose of them imo, all that water and dirt will run right off the edge and into the carpet. Pass.

Seems like the negative votes outweigh the positive ones so far. My car came with the weathertech ones and I hate the feel and look of them (plus they weigh a ton). Guess I'm looking for a set of OEM ones at this point.

Have you ever had the gas pedal stuck underneath the weathertech mat after you blip the throttle or go WoT?

I've had mine for 3 years now haven't experienced this issue.. I can empathize with your concern though. How old are the weathertechs that you have?

There was a post about the "sticky gas pedal" and some of the common denominator was the weathertech mats. Mine came with the car when I purchased it, so could be over 3 years old.

Perhaps they fixed the design on the new ones, but I would keep your eye on it. When it first happened, I though I broke my car lol.

I've only owned my RS4 for three weeks. WeatherTech mats look fairly new and I don't see how the accelerator pedal could get stuck under them. But good to be aware of this potential issue. Surprisingly in rainy Seattle, the OEM mats hold up pretty well to the wet weather and I don't feel the need for the weather techs. Plus I don't allow drinks of any kind in my car .

They don't even look like diamond plate or even metal. It looks like a graphic stuck on a piece of plastic. No likey.
